Christopher J. Sandoval has more than 12 years of senior leadership experience in education, non-profit community service, the United States Military, and the United States Intelligence Community. Most recently, Christopher served as Assistant Professor of Military Science at the University of Oregon where he developed and taught courses in Leadership to more than 100 undergraduate and graduate students.

Prior to his work at the University of Oregon, Christopher worked as Commander of Company Bravo, Task Force ODIN, a Counterintelligence / Human Intelligence unit operating across Northern and Eastern Afghanistan to include its capital, Kabul.

Christopher earned his commission as an Infantry Officer in the United States Army through the Military Science Department at Gonzaga University. As an Infantry Officer, Christopher led Soldiers as a Platoon Leader preparing Soldiers for Combat at Fort Lewis, WA, and leading Soldiers in Combat in North Baghdad, Iraq. Later, Christopher became an Intelligence Officer, where he served as Lead Kabul Analyst, International and Security Assistance Force Joint Command, Kabul Afghanistan; Special Security Officer, III Armored Corps Intelligence Directorate, Fort Hood, TX; and Commander, Headquarters and Headquarters Company, Counterintelligence/Human Intelligence Company, TF ODIN.

Christopher calls Portland, OR home. He attended Gonzaga University in Spokane, WA where he earned bachelor’s degrees in Economics and Criminology and a graduate degree in Communication and Leadership Studies. His time at Gonzaga University cultivated a leadership perspective heavily influenced by the Catholic tradition and Jesuit spirituality. In addition to earning a Master’s degree in Communication and Leadership, Christopher earned an MBA at the University of Oregon. Christopher is also a graduate of the United States Army’s Command and General Staff College.

Before earning his Commission as a Military Officer, Christopher worked as an Americorps VISTA volunteer where he developed after-school programs for at-risk youth and facilitated service and outreach courses for undergraduate students at Gonzaga University. Christopher is an active member of the Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association, a non-profit organization whose members ride motorcycles and are devoted to helping United States Military Veterans throughout the nation. Furthermore, Christopher is a 4th Degree Knight in the Knights of Columbus, a global Catholic fraternal service organization.

Christopher’s awards and decorations include: the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, the Meritorious Service Medal, the Joint Service Commendation Medal, the Army Commendation Medal, the Army Achievement Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Afghanistan Campaign Medal, the Iraq Campaign Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, the Humanitarian Service Medal, the Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal, the Meritorious Unit Commendation, the Combat Infantryman Badge, and the Airborne Parachutist Badge.
